Nutrition Made Easy
A big thank you to Lauren Morris from Lemond Nutrition for coming out to our office today to share some great nutrition tips. A couple of good practical tips from today:
1. Letting your child help prepare the meal will help them learn about healthy eating and make them more likely to eat what they helped prepare.
2. Taking small steps when introducing new foods. When introducing a new healthy food, do so with a meal that contains familiar foods as well. Also don’t be discouraged if your child initially rejects the new food, trying again at a later time can help.
Nutrition Made Easy at Shoreline Pediatric Dentistry
At Shoreline Pediatric Dentistry we recognize that oral health is directly linked to the health of the rest of the body. An important component to both oral health and overall health is nutrition. Because of this, we have partnered with Lemond Nutrition to put on an event to help families in the community learn what it means to eat healthy. We will be hosting Registered Dietitian Nutritionist Lauren Morris, as she discusses topics including: components of a healthy balanced meal, quick healthy snack ideas, quick “one pan” dinner ideas, and a discussion of eating habits. Join us at our office (2435 Ridge Rd #117, Rockwall) on October 11th at 11:00am for this informative and fun event. There will be refreshments and a time for questions after the presentation. We hope to “sea” you there!
Shoreline Pediatric Dentistry Whale Watching
Is your child due to see the Dentist, but you’ve been putting it off because they (or you) have anxiety about going? New experiences can be intimidating for our children. At Shoreline Pediatric Dentistry we do everything we can to help you and your child feel comfortable at our office and have an easy and fun appointment. Part of the way we do this is our “Whale Watching” sessions. Patients can schedule a whale watching session in which they can come tour the office, check out our bubble wall, watch some movies, and play some games on our iPads. They’ll also get a chance to meet our crew. The purpose of these sessions are to familiarize your child with the office so when they come in for their cleaning and exam they will already know what to expect. If you think your child would benefit from a whale watching session give us a call at 972-21-SHORE (972-217-4673) and we would be happy to schedule one for you. For more info on how to help your child have a great appointment check out our “preparing your child” section under our patient info tab. Smile On!
